What offices will be at stake in the 2026 elections? How can someone check whether they are registered to vote? Where can they learn about the candidates who will appear on their ballot and their positions on issues affecting North Carolina?

Enlace Latino NC today launched its 2026 Election Guide, a comprehensive Spanish-language platform designed to help North Carolina voters prepare for federal, state and local elections.

The guide is part of Tu Voto es Poder, the news outlet’s annual election information and civic education initiative. It brings together key dates, explanations of the voting process, resources to check voter registration, a map of races by county, information about candidates and Enlace Latino NC’s news coverage throughout the election cycle.

“Communities need reliable, nonpartisan and accessible election information in Spanish every year, not just during presidential elections. Decisions that affect our daily lives are also made in local, state and midterm elections, and our job is to make sure our community has the information it needs to participate and make its own decisions,” said Paola Jaramillo, executive director and co-founder of Enlace Latino NC.

The platform will be updated throughout the election process with new dates, relevant changes for voters, candidate profiles, service explainers and reporting on elections in North Carolina and the United States.

Key dates and frequently asked questions

The 2026 Election Guide includes an interactive calendar with key dates in the election process and a summary of the main offices at stake in North Carolina.

It also offers a question-and-answer section organized into four topics: requirements and eligibility, voter registration and the voting process. The answers were written in a brief and direct way to make essential information easier to access.

When a topic requires more detail, the guide links to Enlace Latino NC articles about voter registration, voting methods, identification requirements and voters’ rights.

Election map by county

One of the platform’s main resources is the North Carolina Election Map, an interactive tool that allows users to search for a county and view the races and candidates who will appear in that jurisdiction.

By selecting a county, users will be able to identify the federal elections taking place statewide, as well as the state and local races corresponding to their area.

The map will also include, when information is available, candidates’ positions on public issues such as immigration, education, health, the economy, employment, affordable housing and the environment.

Detailed information will focus primarily on North Carolina’s U.S. Senate election and the races in the state’s 14 districts for the U.S. House of Representatives.

The guide does not seek to compile the proposals of every candidate in local and state races, but rather to make it easier to access the races in each county and provide broader information about the main federal elections.

Candidate profiles and positions

The guide will include profiles of Latino candidates participating in North Carolina elections. The section will go beyond a list of names, political parties or offices: It will link to news profiles covering their backgrounds, priorities and proposals.

The platform will also feature a section dedicated to North Carolina’s U.S. Senate candidates and the races for the state’s 14 districts in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Readers will be able to find information about each candidate and, depending on the information available, learn about their positions on issues of interest to the Latino community and other voters in the state.

“This guide was designed from the beginning by and for North Carolina’s Latino community, taking into account language barriers, questions about the election process and the different ways our community participates in civic life. We want everyone to be able to find clear information and concrete tools to understand what is at stake and how they can participate,” said Nicolás Baintrub, newsletter editor and the person responsible for the 2026 Election Guide.

Tools to prepare to vote

In addition to news information, the guide connects readers with official resources and practical tools.

Users will be able to check their voter registration, learn about the options available if they are not yet registered and access the form or online registration process when they are eligible to use them.

People who are already registered can also subscribe to our La Tortilla newsletter to receive information from Enlace Latino NC about dates, deadlines and recommendations for preparing before voting.

At the bottom of the platform, readers will find the latest 2026 Elections coverage, updated with articles published by Enlace Latino NC.

Print version for the community

In addition to the digital platform, Enlace Latino NC will publish a print version of the 2026 Election Guide.

Copies will be distributed to community members through organizations, activities and gathering places that will be announced soon.

The print edition seeks to bring Spanish-language election information to people who do not always have internet access or who prefer to consult and share a physical guide with their families.

Forums and conversations with candidates

As part of Tu Voto es Poder, Enlace Latino NC will hold a series of conversations with candidates during September and October.

The first conversation will be today, Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, with both candidates for mayor of Raleigh. At these meetings, candidates will be able to present their proposals and answer questions about issues of interest to North Carolina communities.

Stay tuned for the announcement of the upcoming conversations with candidates, which will take place in late September and throughout October.
