North Carolina, Charlotte–  The Honduran passport is one of the most requested identification documents in consular offices. To obtain it, a consular appointment must be made online through the new digital platform  of the Consulate of Honduras. Below we tell you everything you need to know to get your appointment.

The platform http://citaconsular.sreci.gob.hn replaces www.citaconsular.com which began operating in 2017, and which according to the Consul General of the Consulate of Honduras in Charlotte, is safer and “friendly” , in addition to having fewer steps to schedule a passport appointment and in the process of other consular procedures. 

Steps to follow: How to make an appointment for the Honduran passport online? 

*These steps to follow apply to any consular procedure and are the same to make an appointment for the passport at any of the Honduran consulates in the United States. 

  1. The first thing to do to schedule the appointment for a Honduran passport in the United States is to enter the website: citaconsular.sreci.gob.hn 
  2. To enter you also have the option of scanning a QR code with your cell phone that can be found on the social media pages of all the Honduran consulates in the United States.
  3. Once on the page, the first screen is displayed where you must select an appointment type option: Consular Appointment
  4. Then the nationality is requested: Honduran or foreign.
  5. When selecting “Honduran”, you must enter the applicant's location or region of the world where they are located, in this case: the United States. 
  6. Subsequently, you must select the consular headquarters where the procedure will be carried out, which would be: Charlotte-North Carolina.
  7. Now you must choose the type of service, in the case of the Honduran passport you can choose between the 5-year or 10-year Honduran passport.

Requirements for the Honduran passport 

Before requesting your appointment to process your Honduran passport, make sure you meet the requirements that will be asked of you.

  • Honduran ID (identity card/card).
  • If you do not have a DNI, you must present the Honduran Birth Certificate and a document with a photo: DACA, residency, or TPS.
  • If you do not carry a document with a photo, a family member must make a sworn declaration by relationship (father, mother, older brother/sister, or uncle/aunt who does carry your ID).
  • If you are a Honduran under 21 years of age, you must appear with both parents. Since one of them is not present, the absent father must send an original authorization, either from consulate to consulate or from a Honduran lawyer.
  • Married women: if you want your married name to be on the document, you need to present your Honduran Marriage Certificate.

Price of the Honduran passport in the United States 

  • 10-year Honduran passport: $75 dollars. Approximately 1,853 Lempiras
  • 5-year Honduran passport: $60. Approximately 1,482 Lempiras
  • Hondurans under 21 years of age can only process a 5-year passport. 

*All procedures must be paid with Money Order, for the exact amount of the procedure. To send the passport, you must provide $8.95 in stamps.


Remember: it is important that you take into account that consular appointments are in high demand, which is why it is recommended that you anticipate your passport process, not leaving it until the last minute.
