The travel experts at “OptimosTravel” analyzed more than 100 well-known attractions in the US, evaluating them based on daily food expenses, public transportation costs, accommodation rates and attraction fees to identify the 10 Cheapest and 10 Most Expensive Vacation Destinations in the US 

According to “Optimos Travel”, they didn't stop at just analyzing the cost per person, they went further to provide a comprehensive cost for a 7 day trip and even broke down the total for a family of four, so that the Families can make the best travel decisions in 2024.

Why the Outer Banks are the least expensive destination in the country 

The Outer Banks in North Carolina emerged as the least expensive destination, offering a full-day experience for just $177, making a 7-day family vacation possible for around $3,248. 

"Optimos Travel” ranked the Outer Banks as the least expensive destination, where the appeal of the Atlantic meets affordability. 

With the lowest lodging costs at $91.44, plus meals at $60 and attractions totaling $11.27, the daily cost per person is just $177.

A week-long stay in the Outer Banks costs $1,237 per person, making it an irresistible deal for a family of four for just $3,248. “This shows that paradise does not have to cost a fortune,” say the analysts at “Optimos Travel.”

What to find in the Outer Banks 

North Carolina's Outer Banks are a series of barrier islands that begin at the Virginia border and extend 120 miles south to Ocracoke Island. Tourism is the Outer Banks' number one industry with more than 5 million visitors each year.
