North Carolina, Raleigh – Medicaid and Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) beneficiaries can update their address and other information online with the tool known as ePASS.
With the changes coming to Medicaid and FNSDue to the end of the federal public health emergency on May 11, beneficiaries of these services must have their information updated.
According to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS), ePASS is a secure, self-service website where you can apply for various benefits, view case details, renew Medicaid, and update information, without have to visit your local Department of Social Services (DSS).
The tool allows you to not only view the details of a case for Medicaid, but also for other services such as FNS. The “enhanced” ePass is also compatible with mobile devices, including a Spanish option.
ePASS is now available in Spanish for Medicaid and FNS

Note: To create an NCID, you must have a valid (working) email address.
2.Once the NCID account is set up, you must use that username and password to log in to ePass, to begin browsing the site.
Steps to improve an account and PASS
In order to complete this process, you must have a Social Security number, otherwise you will not be able to complete this step, and the person must go to the local DSS with documents that verify identity. Once the identity is verified, a DSS caseworker will be able to link the upgraded account.
Here are the steps to upgrade your current ePASS account:
1.Go to site from ePASS https://epass.nc.gov
2.Click on “Your account” and log in.
3.In “Your account”, select Control Panel.
4.You will see: “Improve your ePASS account”. Click the blue arrow on the right side of the panel.
5.The message will appear: How do I upgrade my ePASS account? Click on the blue “Next” button.

6.By clicking on the “Next” button you will be taken to the page where the home address is shown. Click on the blue button that appears next to the address you wish to use.
7.You will be accessed to the page: “Information about you”. Enter the necessary information and click “Next”.
8. Experian will verify the information entered. Once this is done, you will be asked to set up a primary way to obtain confirmation codes, also called two-factor authentication.
It can be a text message or email. Two-factor authentication helps ensure that personal information is secure and that only the user can see and change their information.
9. Once you have finished configuring the first option to obtain the confirmation code, you will be asked to configure a second option to receive the confirmation code.
