Changes to Medicaid, food stamps and WIC
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) encourages recipients to take steps to keep their information up to date.

North Carolina, Charlotte –  State officials urge Medicaid, FNS and WIC recipients to be alert to changes coming due to the end of the federal public health emergency on May 11.

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) encourages recipients to take steps to keep their information up to date.

The department noted that, in the case of Medicaid, recertifications (renewals) began on April 1 and will continue based on the beneficiary's renewal date.

In connection with WIC (Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children), certain types of milk, yogurt and bread/rolls will be more limited after August 1.

On the other hand, it encourages reporting changes in expenses and income to the FNS (Food and Nutrition Services) known as “Food Stamps” or “Food Stamps”, to make sure the benefits are correct.
