Organizations and community groups in North Carolina have begun to publicize, through their social media, the telephone numbers where people can call to report arrests and ICE operations or sign up to receive alerts with “verified information.”

Beginning on Tuesday, January 21, one day after Trump's inauguration, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents began conducting operations in different cities across the country to detain undocumented immigrants and were given the authority to do so in places that were considered sensitive, such as schools, churches, and hospitals.
In North Carolina, community members have reported on social media videos and photographs showing alleged ICE vehicles in the Charlotte area and other locations.
In order to avoid spreading false information on social media and creating panic in the community, the following organizations have a network of fact-checkers in their areas regarding ICE operations and raids.

One of these organizations is Siembra NC, which stated on its Facebook page that “sharing only information that has been verified, and not sharing rumors, is how we take care of ourselves.”

Carolina Migrant Network and Collective Community – Charlotte Area
Charlotte-based organizations Carolina Migrant Network and Comunidad Colectiva also shared a flyer on their Instagram and Facebook accounts urging the community to send photos and videos to their social media to report activity by ICE agents.
"If we verify an ICE raid, we will send it through the Community Collective networks, and we will also send mass messages and text messages to this number and through WhatsApp," he told Enlace Latino NC Daniela Andrade, communications manager for both organizations.
Mariane Ruiz, an organizer for the two organizations, said in a video on Instagram that “they have received quite a few reports from ICE in our area, and they want to give some advice to the community about how to report to immigration responsibly.

RadarSafe – Raleigh Area
RadarSafe, a community alert network in the Raleigh area, is a CAP project to inform the community about ICE checkpoints and activity.
People who have videos and photos, as well as the address or intersection where a police checkpoint or ICE operation is taking place, can report it by calling: 1-800-559-8714.
You can also keep an eye on the page of RADARSAFE in Facebook , where information and alerts are published.
Note: The administrators of this page announced that text messages for alerts are not working for now.
CIMA- mountain area
In the mountain area, the organization CIMA (Compañeros Inmigrantes de las Montañas en Acción) has a community hotline to report checkpoints, ICE raids, or any suspicious police activity.

Neighborhood Watch – Randolph County Area
The Organization Hispanic Ties Inc. in Randolp County, in its Facebook page announced that they have created a WhatsApp community, Together We Are Stronger, dedicated to Neighborhood Watch.
The group's goal is to send out alerts about ICE authorities' movements in that county and surrounding areas.
They report that Hispanic leaders and lawyers will also be in the chat to provide updates on immigration.
To join the chat, people must send a text message to the number: 336-999-3166.
Anti-Raid Action – Alamance County Area
The Organization Values in Alamance , created a community on WhatsApp with several groups, including: Action against raids , where they send reports and alerts about ICE operations, where the community can share videos and photographs and locations, which are verified by administrators.
They also have the group: Alamance License Checks , to warn about police checkpoints to verify driver's licenses.

Safe Together – All of North Carolina
Together Safe , is a free site created to view in real time, any activity of immigration or police authorities on an interactive map according to the postal code between 1 mile and 25 miles around.
Sighting verification: On the site, people can check for activity in their area by zip code and also anonymously report sightings of police activity. An interactive map will immediately display four different colored circles indicating:
Yellow: the zip code search area
Red: Sightings in the last 24 hours
Blue: Sightings in the last 24 to 48 hours
Gray: Sightings lasting more than 48 hours
Report sightings: People can report sightings of police or ICE activity by entering the city or address of the event in the “report sighting” field and clicking “report.”
A form will appear to provide a description of the event, and then there is an option to upload an image or file.
Activity in other states: The site allows you to see activity in other states and the respective map.
