In an effort to provide support to those dealing with substance abuse disorders in North Carolina, a program has been launched Start Your Recovery , an online directory that compiles rehabilitation centers and treatment options approved by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

The directory, available at Start Your Recovery, works as a search engine. It is designed to offer reliable and accessible information. According to the site, its goal “is to offer people a single source of reliable and accessible information at any stage of their recovery process.”

What can you find in the directory?

Start Your Recovery allows you to filter options based on various needs and preferences. Users can search for centers and resources based on different parameters. For example, the location of the facility, the type of treatment available, accepted insurance and costs (including free or low-cost options), and the language of care (including Clinics with care in Spanish).

It also contains additional resources, such as support groups and non-clinical services.

This approach seeks to address the diversity of situations faced by people with substance use disorders and those around them. “We know that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to the challenges faced by those who abuse alcohol, prescription or illegal drugs, or other substances. Our goal is to reach out to help people at any stage of recovery,” Start Your Recovery states on its website.
