According to DOL reports, the H-2A visa program for workers is the only one that has had an increase in emissions in the last five years, despite the immigration restrictions of the Donald Trump administration and the Covid-19 pandemic. .
In 2016, a total of 134,368 H-2A visas were issued, and in 2020 there were 213,394 visas for workers, which shows an increase of 62%.

Participation in the H-2A program
Employers seeking to participate in the H-2A visa program must demonstrate that there are not enough U.S. workers “able, qualified, willing and available to perform temporary and seasonal agricultural work.”

The H-2A visa is granted for one year, but two extensions of up to one year each can be requested, that is, a maximum stay period of three years.

1. Florida: It granted 44,706 certified jobs, which represents 14.1% of the visas issued in the United States.
2. Georgia: 35,205 positions (11.1%)
3. California: 32,333 positions (10.2%)
4. Washington: 28,727 positions (9%)
5. North Carolina: 23,479 positions (7.4%)

7. Michigan: 11,376 positions (3.6%)
8. Arizona: 10,842 positions (3.4%)
9. New York: 9,192 positions (2.9%)
10.Texas: 8,553 positions (2.7%)
