North Carolina, Raleigh- Starting Tuesday, March 1, it will begin operating My Consulate, the new system for scheduling appointments at the Mexican consulates in the United States and Canada, which replaces the Mexitel system.
Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon announced that the new appointment system called My Consulate will work for any of the 57 consulates that the Government of Mexico has in North America.
The new system, My Consulate, will replace the Mexitel system for appointments at Mexican consulates in both the United States and Canada. It will begin its operations for Mexicans abroad as of March 1, 2022.
What is the telephone number to request an appointment at the Mexican consulates?
Those interested in making an appointment for consular procedures should call (1 -424) 309-0009 or enter the new website https://citas.sre.gob.mx
The service will operate Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm Eastern Time. On weekends and holidays, opening hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The new website quotes.sre.gob.mx, It will operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The old telephone numbers of the Mexican Consulate for Mexitel (1-877-639-4835 and 01-800-639-4835) and the previous website they will stop operating starting March 1st.
Meanwhile, the Appointments previously scheduled through Mexitel will continue to be valid.
More operators and cutting-edge technology
The new Mi Consulado telephone service will have 400 operators and an improved training scheme.
It was also indicated that they will use cutting-edge technology, which will allow them to answer up to 35 thousand calls daily. In this way, they will be placed above the maximum demand registered to date.
For its part, the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that this change is part of a series of efforts it is undertaking to improve and modernize its services for millions of Mexican people living in North America.
