The theme for International Museum Day 2022 is “The Power of Museums,” with the central theme defining how these places can transform the world around us.

Museum of Natural Sciences
Located in Raleigh, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences is the oldest museum in North Carolina. It's also the largest of its kind, with a surface area of 300.000 square feet (about 27.870 square meters).
According to its website, it receives more than 1.000.000 visitors each year. This figure makes it one of the most visited Museums in North Carolina.
The objective of this room is to teach in an easy and fun way the wonders of the natural world that surrounds us and promote its conservation.
Throughout the year, the museum always offers opportunities to learn while having fun, from various laboratories where you can carry out experiments, collections to learn about the natural world that surrounds us.

Museum of North Carolina Art
Located in Raleigh since 1956, this museum has more than 40 galleries and the permanent collection.
Known in English as the North Carolina Museum of Art, it exhibits European paintings from the Renaissance to the 19th century, Egyptian funerary art, sculpture and vase painting from ancient Greece and Rome, American art from the 18th and 20th centuries, and international contemporary art.
Other areas include African, Ancient American, Pre-Columbian, and Oceanic art, and Jewish ceremonial objects.

Nascar Hall of Fame.
For lovers of the speed, in Charlotte, is located an interactive entertainment attraction that honors the history and legacy of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, better known as NASCAR.
The goal of the Nascar Hall of Fame is to honor the icons of the world-famous motorsports race, and to create a lasting tribute to the drivers, crew members, team owners and others who have impacted the sport in the past. present and future.

Museum of Life and Science
Located in Durham, this museum, known in English as the Museum of Life And Science, is a science park interactive that includes a science center, a butterfly conservatory (one of the largest in the world).
There are also outdoor exhibits that are safe havens for rescued black bears, lemurs, and endangered red wolves.
If you want to spend as much time as possible outside the museum during your visit, bring mosquito repellent.

Museum of the Bizarre
Located in Wilmington, the Museum of the Bizarre opened in 2015 and for only $3 you can see the private collection of tattoo artist Justin LaNasa.
LaNasa decided to open the facility once he was getting married and realized he needed a place to store his collection of anomalies.
Here you can see Harry Houdini's Ouija board, fantasy objects such as a Bigfoot footprint, a unicorn horn, a Chupacabra hand and even the remains of a mermaid.
Now if horror movies are your thing, you can find some famous characters or even the demonic head of Linda Blair from the Exorcist and the Annabelle doll from the movie with the same name.
