Organization helping Latinos affected by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina

The catastrophe caused by the Hurricane Helene, which became a powerful tropical storm upon arrival in North Carolina on September 26, left in its wake a trail of destruction caused mostly by the devastating floodsFaced with this situation, organizations that help Latinos in North Carolina have deployed their efforts to assist those affected.

Many of the victims are Latino immigrants living in the 25 affected counties in Western North Carolina, which led to a massive mobilization of the different organizations and groups that serve this community in the area.

These organizations have set up collection centers for food, water and basic necessities, in addition to delivering them directly to the affected Latino communities, many of whom live in mobile home parks.

Likewise, Latino organizations and volunteers in other parts of the state have mobilized to collect aid to deliver to these organizations and groups that have their headquarters in the affected counties.
