“The Biden administration gave us the worst inflation in our country’s history.”

FALSE

Trump claimed that “the Biden administration and its allies in Congress gave us the worst inflation in our country’s history.” This is false.

As we explained in this Factchecked articleDuring the economic recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic, inflation in the United States peaked at 9.1% in June 2022 during Joe Biden's administration, but then began to decline, settling at 3% in June 2023.

And it wasn't the highest in history, contrary to what Trump claimed. The last time inflation had exceeded 9% was in November 1981..

The worst inflation in US history occurred after World War I, when prices rose by 23.7% between June 1919 and June 1920, as verified by FactCheck.org, a media partner of Factchequeado.

FALSE

Trump did not inherit record-high inflation. When he took office in January 2025, the inflation rate was at 3%, according to [source missing]. official BLS data.

During Trump's second term, the lowest recorded inflation rate was 2.3% in April 2025, but there was also a month with 3% inflation, in September 2025. The most recent official data shows that inflation in January 2026 was 2.4%.

“Inflation is plummeting”

NEEDS CONTEXT

While inflation has moderated slightly during Trump's second term, to say that it is "plummeting" needs context and would be an exaggeration.

The year-over-year increase in prices in January 2026 was around 2,4%. That is, lower than the year-over-year rate when he took office. However, it had already fallen from a peak of approximately 9% in the summer of 2022 under Joe Biden's presidency. In Biden's last month in office, year-over-year inflation was around 2,9%. The Federal Reserve aims to keep inflation around 2% year-over-year.

“The stock market is at 53 points, an all-time high since the election, (…) and retirement accounts for millions and millions of Americans are benefiting.”

NEEDS CONTEXT

Trump said the stock market is at 53 points, an all-time high since the election, and noted that with the increase in pensions and 401(k) plans, millions of Americans benefit, but this needs context.

When Trump talks about the stock market's all-time highs, he's referring to the record highs reached by the Dow Jones and the S&P 500. Indeed, both have reached record highs, but economic experts agree that the stock market is not a traditional indicator of the economy.

Stock prices reflect investors' expectations about the returns they will obtain by holding their shares in the future, according to Josh Bivens— chief economist at the Economic Policy Institute. They can rise even when the economy faces difficulties, as happened in the second quarter of 2020 during the pandemic.

In contrast, key economic indicators include GDP, inflation (measured by the GCP price index and the CPI), and employment reports.

Furthermore, by the third quarter of 2025, the poorest 50% of Americans own only 1.1% of all stocks, equivalent to $600,000 billion, according to data from the Federal Reserve. These figures include indirect investments in the stock market, including those made through plans 401 (k)Retirement savings plans that allow you to invest a portion of each salary before taxes are deducted, depending on the type of contributions made.

By the third quarter of 2025 (latest figures available), the wealthiest 10% of Americans owned 87.4% of all stocks, worth $49.31 trillion. The wealthiest 1% of the population owned half (50.2%), worth $28.31 trillion.

“I took prescription drugs from the most expensive in the world to the lowest.”

THERE IS NO EVIDENCE

“I took prescription drugs from the most expensive in the world to the lowest,” Trump claimed. While his measures may have lowered the prices of certain medications for some consumers, several experts cautioned that there is no guarantee of substantial savings for Americans overall.

“With rare exceptions,” negotiations with pharmaceutical companies “do not yet appear to have translated into real savings for consumers at pharmacies or for public or commercial payers,” explained Rena Conti, a health economist at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. Factcheck.org, a media partner of Factchequeado.

These exceptions include certain weight loss and fertility drugs, which are often not covered by health insurance and are now being offered at reduced cash prices, he added.

As explained in this note Factcheck.org, In the United States, there is no single, easily trackable measure for drug prices, which  difficult  evaluate the general statements about whether these are going up or down.

In this context,  There are no signs of a widespread reduction in list prices (the official prices set by pharmaceutical companies before applying discounts or negotiations with insurers and public programs). “Normally, in January, we see price increases for brand-name drugs already launched, and as in previous years, prices went up,” Conti stated. The average list price increase for hundreds of brand-name drugs so far in 2026 was 4%, the same average increase as in 2025. according to the research firm 46brookyln.

TrumpRx offers medications "at the lowest price in the world"

THERE IS NO EVIDENCE

After claiming that prescription drugs are supposedly “at the lowest price in the world,” Trump spoke of “price differences of 300%, 400%, 500%, 600% or more, all available right now on a new website called TrumpRx".

TrumpRX is the new federal website that offers information about the  Government-negotiated cash prices for brand-name drugs. The website advertises “the lowest cash prices” and shows discounts of 50% to 93% off the list price for these medications.

The Trump administration provided limited information on how prices were set during the  Closed-door negotiations with pharmaceutical companies. When from FactCheck.org, a media partner of Factchequeado, They requested details from the White House about the international prices they use to compare prices. A spokesperson for TrumpRx indicated that the administration was using prices from other G7 countries, but did not provide further details. The G7, in addition to the U.S., consists of Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan.

“It’s impossible to verify” whether TrumpRx offers the lowest prices internationally, Juliette Cubanski, deputy director of the Medicare Policy Program at KFF, told FactCheck.orgVerifying whether prices are the lowest is complicated, since “there isn’t much transparency in drug prices internationally.” It’s possible to find prices, but it’s unclear what discounts or rebates countries have negotiated on those prices. Furthermore, according to the expert, many brand-name drugs aren’t even marketed in other countries once a generic version becomes available.

“The previous administration secured less than one trillion dollars in new investments in the United States.”

FALSE

Trump claimed that the administration of former President Joe Biden (2021-2025) attracted less than one trillion dollars in new investment to the United States. This is false.

The Cato Institute – a nonpartisan, independent public policy research organization that “promotes libertarian ideas” – indicates that the figure Trump cites regarding the $1 trillion in supposed new investments during the Biden administration may refer to the amount of new foreign direct investment (FDI), investments made by foreign companies or individuals in the United States.

According to data According to the Federal Reserve, the IDF during the Biden administration was $1.2 trillion. But, the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) registry around 4 trillion in non-residential private investment, in 2024 alone.

“In 12 months I secured commitments of over $18 billion from around the world.”

THERE IS NO EVIDENCE

President Trump repeated the claim that he secured commitments worth more than $18 trillion in the first 12 months of his presidency. However, there is no evidence to support this claim.

The White House website muestra A total of $9.6 trillion in new US and foreign investment was projected under the Trump administration. However, not everything listed on this page represents commitments made during Trump's second term, according to [source missing]. Politifact, a media partner of Factchequeado.

Some of the figures include ambitious targets over several years and account for future product purchases rather than capital investments. In the case of some of the largest items, such as the commitments from the governments of the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, the pledges are several times the annual gross domestic product (GDP) of those countries, which calls their feasibility into question.

For example, the White House announced The United Arab Emirates (UAE) pledged $1.4 trillion in investment focused on artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, semiconductors, energy, quantum computing, biotechnology, and manufacturing. However, the UAE's GDP in 2024 was $537,000 billion, nearly three times less than the investment commitment announced by the White House.

Experts consulted by Politi Fact They stated that there is no guarantee that all the promised amounts will materialize, and part of this investment would have been made regardless of who the president was.

“The tariffs are paid by other countries.”

FALSE

On Factchecked We have already informed you that tariffs are not imposed on other countries —as Trump said today and has said before on several occasions—, but they are paid for by American importers.

Experts explained to Factchequeado that a tariff is a tax that applies to foreign-made goods and must be paid by the importing company to the government of its country of origin.

The non-profit, non-partisan organization Tax foundation has explained While tariffs may represent an economic burden for foreign exporters, "the costs usually fall on consumers in the country that imposes them" because, "by artificially increasing the price of imports", they "directly increase the cost of domestic sales".

“The flow of fentanyl has decreased by 56%”

THERE IS NO EVIDENCE

On average, the seizures fentanyl seizures by U.S. Customs and Border Protection have been cut by about half during the first year of Trump's second term, compared to the last year of former President Joe Biden's term.

However, fentanyl seizures only indicate the amount of the drug intercepted before it enters the United States. They do not show the total amount of the drug shipped to the country or how much actually reaches its destination. Therefore, it is impossible to find out if fentanyl in the United States has decreased by 56%, as Trump claims.

Trump blamed the Democrats for shutdown from the Department of Homeland Security

EXPLANATOR

Trump accused Democrats of “cutting all funding to the Department of Homeland Security,” but the budget shutdown has occurred due to a disagreement in the Senate over the actions of border agents, especially after the death of Alex Pretti at the hands of a Border Patrol officer.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had to pause some of its operations starting at midnight on February 13, 2026 because the new budget to operate has not been approved in the Senate.

As we explained in this Factchecked articleThe budget advanced in the House of Representatives, but stalled in the Senate where Democrats conditioned their support on reforms regarding the actions of immigration agents that Republicans have not accepted.

But this budget cut does not affect the operations of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), because their funding is already secured by the law known as the One Big Beautiful Bill. Nor does it affect U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), because it is funded by fees from those who apply for immigration services.

However, the closure does affect Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees and Coast Guard agents.

“The United States has just received more than 80 million barrels of oil from Venezuela”

NEEDS CONTEXT

The Federal Energy Information Administration It has not published the 2026 data on the amount of oil the United States has imported from Venezuela. According to the data from 202580 million barrels of oil is equivalent to about six days of US oil production.

The Trump administration reached an agreement with Venezuela's interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, in January to export up to $2000 billion worth of Venezuelan crude oil to the United States.

TankerTrackersA service that tracks and reports on crude oil shipments from various countries recorded that between January 3 and February 5, 7,54 million barrels of crude oil left Venezuela bound for the United States on tankers operated by Chevron. According to this service, Venezuela has exported half the amount of oil claimed by Trump.

Vitol and Trafigura, oil trading companies licensed by the United States to sell and market Venezuelan oil, exported about 12 million barrels in January, most of which went to storage terminals in the Caribbean, according to Reuters.

“In my first 10 months, I ended eight wars, including the one in Cambodia.”

FALSE

Trump claimed to have ended eight wars in his first ten months in office. This is false.

Trump He participated in 2025 in agreements that contributed to the  Reduction of tensions in conflicts between Cambodia and Thailand; Israel and Iran; and India and Pakistan, although some leaders of those countries question its role.

The United States participated in a temporary peace agreement between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, which experts say is significant but still fragile. In the conflict between Egypt and Ethiopia, There is no solution in sightAnd, in the case of  Kosovo and Serbia, there is no evidence that a war was brewing.

The leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan met with Trump at the White House on August 8, 2025 to sign a joint declaration of peace after almost 40 years of conflict. This agreement, mediated by Trump, it does not constitute a definitive peace agreement, but it represents a step in that direction, according to foreign policy experts.

Trump also cited the war in Gaza. On February 25, 2025, Trump chaired the first meeting of his initiative The “Peace Board” was established in an attempt to broker an agreement to end the conflict in Gaza. However, as of February 25, 2026, the conflict has not ended.

Trump and his supporters have praised his role in resolving conflicts around the world, calling him the “peace president” or “chief peacemaker” and saying he should receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

A White House spokesman told him in September 2025 FactCheck.org, a media outlet allied with Factchequeado, which when Trump said he had put an end to these wars, “he was also referring to the conflicts that would have broken out if he had not intervened to maintain peace through the Abraham Accords and other measures.”

“I urge you to pass the SAVE America Act to prevent illegal immigrants (…) from voting. (…) This voter fraud is rampant.”

FALSE

Trump called on Congress to pass the bill called Protecting the American Voter's Eligibility Act (SAVE America) “to prevent illegal immigrants and other undocumented individuals from voting in our sacred American elections.”

“That electoral fraud is rampant. It’s rampant,” the president added. However, that’s false.

According to nonpartisan organizations, voting by non-citizens is rare. It is currently illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal or state elections in the United States.

A September 2024 report from the Migration Policy Institute (MPI), a think tanks independent and non-partisan dedicated to the analysis, research and development of migration policies, concludes that “there is no evidence that unauthorized immigrants, carriers of the green card, or immigrants with temporary visas are voting in significant numbers.”

“Audits conducted by state officials and studies by nonpartisan (even conservative) organizations have revealed that voter fraud by non-citizens is, as one organization described it, 'extremely rare',” they add.

For example, a 2022 investigation in Georgia found 1634 incidents of non-citizens possibly attempting to register to vote between 1997 and 2022. All of these individuals were blocked from registering until they could provide proof of citizenship.

The Heritage Foundation, a conservative organization, maintains a database of alleged cases of election fraud. This database will remain active until February 24, 2026. data It recorded 1620 cases between 1982 and 2025, an insufficient number of incidents to change an election result.

The SAVE America Act would require “every U.S. citizen to present documents such as a passport or birth certificate to register to vote,” explained The Brennan Center. This requirement will disenfranchise millions of Americans of all ages and races, disadvantaging younger and non-white voters.

as we tell you in Factchequeado “Many Americans – especially older adults, African Americans and Latinos – have never received a birth certificate.”

Research indicates that: more than 21 million many Americans do not have the documents that would be required if the SAVE Act were passed, more than a half of the American citizens not even the passport and millions they have no access to a paper copy of your birth certificate.

Trump claimed that in Minnesota, Somalis “have looted some $19,000 billion from American taxpayers” and added that “the number is much higher.”

However, that figure is not reflected in the criminal charges filed since 2022, although investigations are still ongoing.

“The price of eggs has dropped by 60%”

NEEDS CONTEXT

Trump claimed that “the price of eggs has dropped 60%.” While it is true that prices have fallen by that percentage from their peak ($6.2 in March 2025 to $2.6 in January 2026), the reduction is around 48% when comparing January 2025 to January 2026.

When Trump began his second term, the average price of eggs was $4.95. By January 2026, the price had fallen to $2.57, according to [source missing]. data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

The price of eggs has been affected by outbreaks of avian flu in recent years. In 2024, as we told you in Factchequeado Nearly 50 million egg-laying hens were lost. While flocks have since recovered and prices have fallen, farmers have still suffered losses.

“Now they find themselves in a situation where (farmers) are dealing with historically low wholesale prices, which means they are producing eggs below the cost of production,” he told CNN Emily Metz, president and CEO of the American Egg Board.
