North Carolina, Charlotte- The Consulate of El Salvador in Charlotte officially opened its doors on August 1, 2019. This consular headquarters will serve Salvadorans living in North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Support services, procedures and prices
Consul Emilia Recinos Montes indicated some of the consular procedures that compatriots will be able to carry out, and also the prices in force on the date of publication of this article:
- Salvadoran Passport USD $60
- Power of Attorney USD $40
- Birth Certificate USD $5
- Death Certificate USD $5
- Marriage Certificate USD $5
- Criminal Record USD $3
- Travel Authorization USD $20
- Survival Procedures USD $10
The only document that will not be processed for now will be the Unique Identity Document (DUI).
They will also offer support in repatriation of bodies and location of detained Salvadorans.
To pay for the procedures, you can pay in cash with the exact amount or with Money Order.

How to request an appointment at the El Salvador consulate?
At the moment it will not be attended without appointment because there are currently only three officials, although exceptions will be made in the event of an emergency.

The new consulate is located at 1520 West Boulevard, Charlotte, NC, 28208.
Office hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
