North Carolina, Charlotte – Salvadorans residing in the United States can now request that the Unique Identity Document of El Salvador (DUI) be delivered to their home, through the new system called “DUI Express.”
This new system launched in the middle of this year by the Salvadoran government allows users, after processing the DUI at the Consulate General of El Salvador, choose to request the home delivery service.
The Consulate General of El Salvador in Charlotte announced this option to its compatriots on December 16 on its Facebook page.

On the website DUI abroad You can consult the requirements and select the type of document you want to process. Whether issuance for the first time or renewal.
From this page you can choose the “DUI Express” button at the top of the page.
Here, you will find the steps to follow to request the delivery of the document to your home.
The site also has the “make your appointment” button, which takes the user to the appointment portal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: https://portalcitas.rree.gob.sv/
There you can check the status of your DUI procedure by number or by name and date of birth.
Steps to request the sending of the DUI by mail
The first thing to do is make an appointment to go to the nearest consular headquarters, where through the service centers of the National Registry of Natural Persons (RNPN), they request the DUI.
After going to the appointment at the Salvadoran consulate to process the DUI, you can request at the consulate that the document be delivered by sending it home.
If the person has already visited the consulate to request the issuance of the DUI, and did not make the request for home delivery, they can do so online on the site or download the application.
Additionally, a tutorial is offered to facilitate the process.
Request sending of the DUI through the website
On the site, once the user clicks on the button to request home delivery, it will take them to: “request delivery through the website”, or the option to “download the app” on the cell phone.
In the next step, the user must select the city where the consulate where the DUI was processed is located, and enter the document number.
Subsequently, you must enter the shipping address (be careful not to enter the wrong address), telephone number, and email address.
Salvadorans in the United States have 25 Consulates to which they can go to carry out their procedures.
Cost of the “DUI Express”
The processing of the Unique Identity Document costs US $35 and the shipping fee is US $20, which must be paid on the website or in the application.
Once the payment has been made, the user will see an option on the screen to verify that the data is correct.
When you confirm the data, a notice will appear on the screen that the procedure has been completed. According to the site, the DUI will arrive in a maximum of 15 days.
