In newly renovated facilities and with a new name, Camino Salud continues to offer comprehensive, high-quality, low-cost medical care for the latin families who live in the Charlotte area.
This clinic, which has served the Latino community for nearly 25 years, transitioned from Camino Health Center to a Spanish name in the spring when it reopened and announced it would also provide dental care first level.
Camino Salud is part of the Camino organization, led by Pastor Rusty Price, whose mission is to “equip the Latino community” through four areas of service: Camino Salud, Camino University (education and workforce development), Arriba (economic empowerment), and Camino Church.
Provide a welcoming and friendly environment for the patient
All of these services are located at 201 Stetson Dr., and each operates in separate areas. Its location is privileged, as it is very close to the North Tryon corridor, northeast of the city, where a large part of the Latino community is concentrated.
As it's a bilingual clinic, patients can speak their language with all staff, both medical and administrative, without having to use an interpreter. This also means the clinic is open to all communities.
“We strive to offer a friendly and welcoming environment where every patient feels valued and well cared for,” said Paola García, Camino’s Marketing and Communications Director.
Comprehensive, low-cost medical care
Camino Salud has four service areas: general medicine, dental health, nutrition, and pastoral care.
“With our primary care services, we offer preventive medicine and chronic disease management,” García explained.
“The most important thing for us is that we are committed to providing the highest quality of care possible and at the most affordable prices, and you don't need to have health insurance to be served and enjoy all our services.”
The director emphasized that, in the primary care area, preventive medicine and management services for chronic diseases, such as diabetes, are provided.
"We want to encourage the Latino community not to wait until they are in severe pain, but to have an annual physical checkup," García urged.
In good professional hands
Camino Salud has three physicians in charge of general checkups, a general dentist, and nurses on its professional staff. It also has university interns who are about to graduate, and if a patient requires a specialist, they can be referred.
“We are very blessed to have good connections with Novant, Atrium, and our Latino dentist, who attended one of the best dental programs in Chapel Hill, so we also have connections with the Chapel Hill Dental School,” the director commented.
All dental services
García said that, regarding dental health services, patients can find everything from cleanings, extractions, crowns, bridges, dental correction, implants, root canal treatments, dentures, braces, and even clear fillings. This department has five modern dental rooms.
“Our prices are more affordable than any other clinic in our area, and we are focused on ensuring patients have access to the highest quality services,” he noted.

Camino Salud also has a mobile clinic which is transferred to different communities that need it.
"With this truck, we can reach different communities with our dental and general medicine services. If you'd like us to come to your community, just send us a message," he commented.
Medical services for companies and businesses
García said Camino Salud also works with companies and businesses. "If you're a business owner who wants to work with us to provide your employees with access to our services, you can contact us."
