In order to promote their University Career and Promise program o “Career and College Promise” , Guilford Technical Community College will conduct four information sessions aimed at students high school and their parents.
Students and parents are invited to attend any of the free one-hour events at their Jamestown campus.
Get ahead of university without paying tuition
“Career and College Promise” (CCP) offers North Carolina high school students the opportunity to earn college credits on a university campus. community college.
The program is free for students of eleventh (senior) and tenth (junior) grade of secondary school. Students must have an unweighted cumulative GPA of 2.8.

What information will be shared in the sessions
During the session, families will learn about program pathways, eligibility requirements, application steps, important deadlines, and support services available to help students succeed.
GTCC staff will also explain how CCP courses can align with career goals, transfer opportunities, and employment credentials.

Two-way program
GTCC offers two way University Career and Promise: University Transfer and Professional/Technical Education.
Within the Itineraries of University Transfer Students can earn credits toward an associate degree in: arts, sciences, fine arts, teacher training, engineering, or Nursing, with university credits transferable to all institutions of the UNC System already many private universities and colleges in North Carolina.
The way of Vocational/Technical Education, It offers more than 30 certificate and diploma programs, including: fire protection technology, criminal justice, culinary arts, medical office management, early childhood education, aviation, welding, and more.
The GTCC Career and College Promise program is currently accepting applications for the Fall semester of 2026.

All sessions will be held on Tuesdays from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on the Jamestown campus, at the GTCC in the auditorium of the Koury Hospitality Careers Building, located at 621 E. Main St, Jamestown.
